(I'd suggest not staying too far back with it though. I actually prefer the Mars because my Dominators usually go in real close while the Mars sits further back and acts as fire support along with using fighters, or bombers where necessary. If you already have a lot of firepower, sometimes it is good to pick the alternative to the Mars because it has access to fighters, which are crucial to beat back bomber spam (aka Carrier Fleets). But you do need to always be taking into account fleet composition.
